A Director is in complete and total control of a production away from the financial and marketing side of things. it is the directors job to See things the way an audience will whereas people like the actors only see their roles and the fakery around them, a director must look past these things and make sure everything seems as real as possible. Before the actual production beings the director plays a massive role in casting and rehearsals and things of this matter. If a director was not involved in the casting process the film may not hit as hard to the audience as the director had intended so this an important part of the job for them. Directors must take the script (which is sometimes originally written by them) and make the world and characters inside it come to life. to become a director one must have a vast amount of experience and knowledge within a production and a creative style as it this style that will allow films to stand out and seem original to a particular director. everyone away from the financial and marketing side of a production answers to the director at all times including people like camera opeators, editors, actors, storyboard artists etc. a Director tells the storyboard artists what will be happening in each scene and they draw on his instruction, the actors are basically barbie dolls for the director as they are poseable and moveable to his command, he tells them how to act in a specific scene and way that goes with the feeling he was going for. before a diector can shout action and get things roling he must first think about how to angle the cameras in a way that is most effective to the mood of the scene and instruct the sound people where to be and also tell the lighting engineer how to have the lights specific for this shot/scene.
