A technical job within the media is any job that requires some kind of technical knowledge and is a more hands on sort of job as apposed to artistic or creative. these jobs can range from things like Setting up and using camera equipment, lights and sound. These are all crucial parts of any production and must be performed without flaw and under complete direction from the director or set manager. Camera men are responsible for controlling the movement and settings of the camera under direction and must all follow instructions carefully to avoid other cameras being in shot and no to cut too soon or too frequently and always make sure that the person or item within shot is central to focus, there is a lot more to think about and is not just a job that anyone can do by pointing a camera and pressign a button. sound engineers and mic holders are also harder than they sound, The person who holds the boom pole has to position the microphone just above the shot to capture sound correctly and in high quality without ever falling into shot which can be hard keeping your arms held up for long periods of time, they must work in unison with camera men to make sure that they are never in shot or the production is potentially ruined or at the very least the quality, the sound engineer is in charge of making sure the sound is high quality and to the right volume and without interuptions or breaks.
